Blender Bevel Tool – Linux Hint

In real life, no surface is completely clear. Bavel helps reveal the details. Objects are much more attractive when they are beveled than without. This effect can be exaggerated or thin, it depends on the shape of the grid and your preferences. The bevel allows the corners and edges of the net to be mowed. The bevelled edges catch the light and change the shadows in the corners, making the grid realistic.

There are several ways to access 3D models and make chamfers on them:

  1. Use of the bevel tool
  2. Use of a modifier
  3. Use of speed-dial buttons

Use of tapered tools

Switch from object mode to edit mode to apply the bevel to any object/mix. Select the object and click on the Simulation tab at the top or use the shortcut key on the tab to enter editing mode. A small window switches from object mode to edit mode and indicates that you are in edit mode. The chamfer can only be applied to the edges and corners. So select the option with the border facing up and then select the grid border.

Select the bevel tool from the quick tool menu on the left. Then left-click anywhere in the viewing window to apply the bevel. The selected border will be trimmed.

If you want to apply it to all edges at once, select all edges by pressing A and repeat the process. To increase the resolution of the bevel, simply turn the scroll wheel to add segments to the bevel.

A small tab called the Bavell Tool Operator Panel appears in the lower left corner. When you open the bevel by clicking, the following options are available,

Wide font: Calculation of the chamfer. The chamfer can be covered with the displacement, width, depth and percentage.

Width : The width is the number of widths according to the type of width chosen.

segments : The number of segments increases the resolution of the bevel, the more segments, the more bevel angles.

Profile: The profile regulates the curvature of the chamfer. The value of the profile can be set to any number in the range 0-1.

Data
Vertex : If you want to apply the bevel only to vertices, select this option.

The equipment: With the material option, material can be added to the bevel. To add materials, first create the materials of your choice on the Materials tab. And then apply it via the control panel. For example, material 0 will be the standard material.

Use of modifier

Another way to apply the bevel is to use a modifier, all settings are almost identical. However, there is one option that is not available when beveling with a tool, and that is the limit. The Limit option allows you to apply a threshold with respect to an angle.

To add this modifier, click on the icon with the image of the modifier key. Then select the bevel modifier.

By default, the limit method is zero and the modifier applies the bevel indiscriminately to all loops and corners of the edge. When you select an angle limit, the modifier applies a bevel to edges and vertices that exceed this limit.

In the same way, you can manually select the weight and vertices as angles to be changed.

Like many other modifiers, the bevel modifier is non-destructive, you can adjust the mesh size with the bevel on it.

Use shortcut keys

The bevel can be applied with a few shortcut keys, it is much easier and faster if you remember those keys. The steps for applying this effect using the shortcut keys are shown below:

Select the object/mix and press Tab to enter edit mode.

To apply the bevel to all edges and vertices, select all edges and vertices by pressing A. Press Ctrl B, a dotted line will appear attached to the mouse and then move the mouse in any direction without clicking. He’ll just chamfer you.

If you want to apply a bevel to a specific edge, select that edge and then use the Ctrl B key to apply the effect.

To add segments, simply rotate the mouse wheel.

Trimming can also be applied to the corners of the grid, the key combination is Ctrl+Shift B, and to add segments use the scroll wheel.

Conclusion

In this article we will learn how to apply bevels to the mesh using different methods and approaches. If you are a beginner, try the first method, select the Slash tool from the shortcut menu and apply it. The use of a chamfer with a modifier is the same. But if you want to work fast, there are always shortcuts.
